My name is Mark and I am the founder of Find Rest C.C.
I deal primarily with unwanted sexual behaviors (i.e pornography, hook ups, infidelity) through a combined attachment, trauma and spiritual restorative lens. My approach seeks to release shame not use it as a tool to motivate. You can expect to explore the nature and causes of your unwanted behaviors and pursue your path to wholeness, not simply stop a behavior.
Through my unique integration of empirically proven interventions centered in Christ’s wisdom and grace, you will uncover untended wounds, shame and lies that have distorted your identity and kept you stuck. You can’t heal what you don’t name. Together we will address the roots driving your unwanted behaviors to facilitate your growth out of unnecessary pain, anxiety and shame toward peace, freedom, purpose and resilience.
This is not about simply stopping a behavior or emotion, but rather moving in a different direction so your behavior no longer serves you.
You don’t have to stay stuck. The way out starts with interrupting the status quo .
Certifications, Degrees & Education
Mark has been a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Texas since 2018. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Creighton University and a Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. After practicing law for 25 years, Mark felt called by God to serve others as a professional mental health counselor. This led him to seminary, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Arts in Counseling from the Houston Graduate School of Theology, earning recognition as the Outstanding Graduate in Counseling.
Trauma Intervention Techniques
Mark holds a Level 1 Clinical Track Certification in Narrative Focused Trauma Care, having trained under Dr. Dan Allender. He has also completed Level 1 training in trauma interventions, including FLASH and Progressive Counting, with Dr. Ricky Greenwald.
Unwanted Sexual Behavior Therapy
Mark is trained in Unwanted Sexual Behavior therapy under Jay Stringer (author of Unwanted), AASAT Sex Addiction therapy program under Dr. Doug Weiss, and Restoration Therapy with Dr. Terry Hargrave.
Theological and Counseling Education
Mark also received Biblical Counseling training from the Christian Counseling & Education Foundation, affiliated with Westminster Seminary. Mark has developed a unique counseling model integrating these clinical approaches under a Christ-centered, grace-driven framework, addressing both the spiritual and mental aspects of his clients’ needs. A dedicated follower of Jesus Christ for over 30 years, Mark has been actively engaged in Bible teaching and congregational preaching for more than a decade.
Clinical Experience and Practice
Mark served as a full-time therapist with STCH Ministries Counseling in Houston, Texas, for 6.5 years, working with hundreds of clients. His primary focus was helping men struggling with unwanted sexual behaviors such as pornography, adultery, hookups, and other forms of sexual acting out. He also treated anger, childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, and burnout. Additionally, Mark provided extensive support to couples recovering from marital betrayal and found a unique calling in counseling pastors and individuals in full-time ministry.

Licensing
Mark is based in Houston and serves clients statewide in Texas through online therapy. All sessions are conducted remotely using a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform.
Fees
Find Rest Christian Counseling keeps its rates reasonable and competitive with the state average. Every client is responsible for full payment. Private pay for individual sessions: $150.
